Sideboard from Tianjin - Camphor - 19thC
Our pieces are mostly 19th century & early 20th century, usually made from Elm and occasionally in Camphorwood.
They were used for storage of clothes or scrolls and often as altar cabinets for family ancestor worship, hence the joss stick burns often found on the top.
The fittings are made from bss.
