This antique limber chest would have been used by the British army in India in the late 19th century. These chests were extremely sturdy and made of hardy teak wood bound with iron. The average limber chest was designed to be able to carry over three times its weight in ammunition.

What was once a very functional piece, is now a truly unique decorative antique and a good size for use as a side table. The painted teak and iron would fit into a range of interior styles.
