This fabulous Teakwood chest has a great patina, it has been sympathetically restored in our Wiltshire workshop. It has original hand forged iron corners and strong handles. Perfect for storage and for use as a coffee table. This chest is mid 19thC & comes from Gujarat.

Chests from India are found in an extraordinary variety of styles reflecting the many cultures that influenced India. They were usually made from Teak, rosewood or jackfruit wood.
They were used for storing valuables such as textiles, jewellery and cash. Our pieces are mostly from the 19th century & occasionally 18th and early 20th century.
