This iconic antique Indian carved stone panel originates from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, a region renowned for its highly prized golden-yellow sandstone. Jaisalmer stone has long been celebrated for both its durability and its warm, luminous tone, and architectural carvings from this desert city are especially sought after throughout India.

Carved in the Mughal style and dating to the 19th century or earlier, the panel features a beautifully composed central floral motif emerging from a stylised vase, framed by a finely pierced geometric border. The flowing foliage and symmetrical composition reflect the refined decorative vocabulary of Mughal design, while the textured surround adds depth and architectural presence.
