This beautiful painted stone jali panel from Rajasthan, India dates to the 19th century. These delicately carved stone Jali windows were used in beautiful stone havelis in Rajasthan - these were stylish homes of the more wealthy classes. The fretwork enabled privacy whilst allowing a cooling breeze to enter the building.
