Limed & Carved Indian Door & Frame With Parrots

This beautifully carved teak wood door is from a North Indian haveli. It's hand carved in the classic Mughal style with a trailing acanthus design embellished with parrots. There is a traditional lime finish that accentuates the carving. It is a true statement piece. 

These doors are saved from buildings in India that have fallen into a state of disrepair and are no longer in a repairable state. As with most Indian doors, they would have originally operated on a pin and post system and not on hinges.

Although this is a heavy piece, Indigo Antiques have a trained delivery team to bring it into your home. We can provide assembly advice to your builders however we will need to discuss your hinge and hanging requirements before arranging delivery. Hinges may incur a small additional charge depending on your specifications. The doors can be used either with or without the frame and hinges can be provided at an additional cost.
