These antique Indian merchant boxes were used in the old days by Indian merchants and traders in the bazaars for storing their cash and ledgers. This piece dates to the 19th century and is from Northern Rajasthan. It is crafted from roheda wood bound with iron.

Exceptionally well made, they make great keepsakes or trinket boxes. These boxes make fantastic gifts. You can store everything from TV remotes to knitting in them. This one has developed a wonderful patina over time.
