This vintage Buddha statue is in the pose of bhumisparsha mudra. Bhumisparsha means "Touching the earth" and symbolises Buddha's enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. The mudra is always from a seated position with the right hand resting on the knee and fingers pointing to the ground. The left hand is holding an alms bowl.

This is a good quality reproduction of a Nepalese Buddha dating to the 1980's.
