This bronze Nepalese style Buddha is a reproduction piece. Buddha is shown in the pose of Bhumisparsha mudra and seated on a lotus throne. Bhumisparsha means 'Touching the earth' and symbolises Buddha's enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. The mudra is always from a seated position with the right hand resting on the knee, and fingers pointing to the ground.

This is an excellent quality reproduction piece cast in bronze in the Nepalese style using traditional techniques with a gilded finish.

The lotus throne sits upon a pedestal that is guarded by two lions and an engraved dragon on the rear. A wonderfully carved backrest featuring mythical creatures and figures encircles the Buddha.
