This 19th century carved teak dog gate from Gujarat is a beautifully preserved example of traditional Indian architectural craftsmanship. Originally fitted across the entrance of havelis, these gates were designed to keep animals out while allowing light, air, and visibility to pass freely through the home.

Handcrafted from solid teak, the gate features elegant flowing lines with a gently arched top and finely carved floral and foliate motifs running throughout the frame. The vertical iron bars and original iron fittings add both strength and contrast, while the rich, timeworn patina enhances its authentic character and depth.
