This pichwai unusually comes from Kishangarh in Rajasthan, whereas most pieces are made in Nathdwara in Rajasthan (near Udaipur.) Kishangarh has always been famous for its painting and painters. This particular piece is not old, however it was painted by a highly skilled artist using real gold leaf & mineral paints. It is very difficult to find quality pieces such as this now as the majority of pieces are made for the tourist market where quality as become less of a priority.
