This antique Indian grain measure dates to the 19th century. This style is most often from Rajasthan in Northern India and is constructed from roheda wood and iron. Grain measures like these were used in markets for measuring wheat, corn, rice, and pulses. In the old days, the Indian measures were Seers &Pattis.

Pieces like this have been used every day, handed down generations by families in India, and developed a rich warm patina.

These make fabulous planters, decorative features, or waste paper bins.

Internal Dimensions: 19.7cm
