This traditional Chinese elm stool is constructed with a thick piece of solid elm as the seat using traditional Chinese carpentry. It is constructed from yumu elm & from Shanxi province. 

These sturdy wooden stools are a vital component of any shabby chic interior and originally would have been used by farm workers. Versatile, they can be used as a side table or as an extra stool for guests at a dinner table.
