This beautifully rustic 19th century saddle stool is handcrafted from solid elm using traditional mortise and tenon carpentry techniques. The thick seat has been naturally shaped into a gently curved saddle form, designed for comfort while showcasing the rich grain, organic texture and weathered character of the aged timber.
Originally used by farm workers, stools of this type were valued for their durability, practicality and simple functional beauty. The honest construction, worn surface and visible signs of age give the piece an authentic rustic charm that works effortlessly within both country and contemporary interiors.
Compact and highly versatile, the stool can be used as occasional seating, a side table, bedside stand or decorative accent piece. Its sculptural silhouette and tactile aged wood make it especially appealing within wabi-sabi, farmhouse or shabby chic interiors.
