The figure of Buddha is made in has hallmarks of the Ayuthaya style but is likely later, probably early Rattanakosin period (1782 - 1932) - circa 1800. with a regal appearance, his earlobes hanging long in a princely fashion. He is on a lotus base placed on a stepped circular pedestal.

A truly beautiful example of Buddhist art.

Condition:

Wearing of the gilt throughout. This Buddha has been checked in our workshops to preserve it. Damage to the back of the robe, likely due to a historic drop. This has been consolidated to halt further deterioration.
