Like many things in India these were made for a practical purpose. Beautifully carved from teak by Maharathi craftsmen in the 19th Century. Seldom used in Indian kitchens in these times of modern materials, the Dahi Wada were used in the old days during festival times as sweet moulds. A perfect gift for a collector of village art, each one is unique. They look wonderful displayed in a group on a wall or table.
