Looking for a dramatic entrance to your room or as a statement piece in your home, a retail space or film set? These antique carved doors and frame from India hark from Punjab in Northern India and have been reclaimed from an old haveli.

The chip carving and top lintel is classic of the style of Punjab and the door is adorned in beaten ornate iron work. These doors would have originally been used as the front door of a merchant's home.

At the top of the door you can see a chain for padlocking the doors shut when leaving the home. In the centre of the lintel, there is carved god who would have looked after the home and its residents. It is a different colour and unpainted as it would have been protected from the harsh Indian weather by the frame of the building.

These doors are saved from buildings in India which have fallen into a state of disrepair and are no longer in a repairable state.

Although this is a heavy piece, Indigo Antiques have a trained delivery team to bring it into your home, and we can provide assembly advice to your builders.
