A practical and charming antique Indian jewelry box dating to the 19th century. It is made from teak wood in the Anglo-Indian style and likely would have belonged to a merchant or East Indiaman.

The brass bindings and fittings are reminiscent of the campaign style and it has developed a wonderful patina over the years. The removable top compartment makes it perfect for a keepsake box or desk tidy. A sturdy chain protects the hinges by preventing the lid from falling open.
