Description

These beautiful teak jali doors from Gujarat date to the early 20th century and display the timeless appeal of traditional Indian architectural craftsmanship. Retaining layers of original distressed paint in soft blue and natural tones, the doors possess a richly weathered surface that has developed character and depth through decades of use. Their elegant proportions and authentic patina make them a striking decorative statement.

The doors feature slender iron bars set within stylised Mughal arch panels, a design element inspired by the refined architecture of northern India. Traditionally used to provide security, ventilation, and filtered light, the combination of timber, ironwork, and decorative arches creates a harmonious balance of function and ornament. Today, they serve equally well as architectural wall art, interior features, or statement decorative pieces.
