This beautifully carved teak peacock corbel originates from Gujarat and dates to the 19th century, showcasing the region’s rich architectural carving traditions. Once used either side of an entrance door in a traditional haveli, it features an elegantly stylised peacock perched among dense foliate motifs, all hand-carved from a single block of teak. Time-worn layers of old paint add depth and character, highlighting the piece’s age and long life within its original setting.
Mounted on a custom iron stand, this sculptural fragment works wonderfully as a decorative object, celebrating the artistry of Gujarati woodcarvers. Its bold form, expressive carving, and tactile patina make it a striking accent for shelves, consoles, or curated display groupings.
