This striking Indian Maharaja panel has a rich, regal elegance. This panel was original a ceiling panel in an old Rajasthani haveli. It has been beautifully painted with a Mughal prince.

His poised stance and the delicate flower he holds evoke a sense of refinement and power, symbolising status, beauty, and the Persianate aesthetics of the Mughal era. Surrounding him is a delicately painted floral border in hues of yellow and red, adding depth and framing the central figure beautifully.

This ceiling panel is likely originally from Bikaner in Northern India. Bikaner had a unique trading relationship with the Himalayas, thus Himalayan cedarwood is a uniquely used in Bikaner furniture & building construction.
