This decorative vintage terracotta jar from Rajasthan dates to around 1950 and is richly adorned with intricate glass inlay work. Traditionally handcrafted, the surface is built up with raised patterns and set with small pieces of coloured and mirrored glass, creating a beautifully textured and reflective finish.
The design features repeating floral and geometric motifs arranged in bands around the body, with warm earthy tones complemented by flashes of amber, green and silvered mirror. Its softly worn surface and minor irregularities speak to its handmade nature and years of use, adding to its authentic charm.
A striking decorative piece, it works beautifully as a standalone object or as a vessel for dried arrangements, bringing a touch of traditional Indian craftsmanship into the home.
