Carved Teak Window Mirror From Haryana - 18th Century

This 18th-century carved teak window from Haryana has been carefully converted into a highly decorative mirror. The quality and depth of the original carving are particularly fine, representing a type of architectural craftsmanship that is becoming increasingly difficult to source.

The frame incorporates a Mughal-style arched opening surrounded by densely carved floral and foliate decoration. Below the mirror is the original intricately worked jali panel, complete with old iron fittings, adding another layer of architectural detail.

Traces of the original blue painted finish remain within the carving, hinting at the much more colourful appearance the window would once have had. The centuries of wear and weathering have left the teak with a wonderfully aged surface and patina.

The antique architectural frame has been fitted with new mirror glass and is supplied with sturdy hangers for secure wall mounting.
