These very decorative grain measures were used everywhere in the bazaars of India many years ago for measuring grain, rice, and other foods. In those days the Indian measures were seers & pattis.

This piece has the original iron and brass embellishments that transcending an old utility item into a thing of beauty.

Showing signs of age but is still very robust. It has now got a beautiful patina from so many years of use. It would make a great plant pot or wastepaper bin.
