Measures like these were used in markets for measuring wheat, corn, rice, and pulses. In the old days, the Indian measures were Seers & Pattis. These pieces are marked as property of NGD Association from Bombay. Pieces like this have been used every day, handed down generations by families in India, and develop a rich warm patina.

While these can still be used today for measuring, they could also be used as pen pots, planters and much more.
