These charming reproduction lacquer pots are crafted using the traditional Indian technique of lac turning, also known as etched nakshi. Each pot is hand-turned on a simple lathe, with layers of natural lacquer applied and then intricately scratched to reveal the contrasting design beneath. The bold black background and warm yellow floral motifs are typical of Rajasthan’s lacquerware tradition.

Originally, pots like these were used for storing bindi—the red powder symbolising the third eye in Hindu tradition. These reproductions beautifully capture the craftsmanship and spirit of antique lacquerware, making them perfect decorative accents or collectors’ pieces.
