This glazed white porcelain ewer is a copy of an iconic piece of Northern Song Dynasty (960-1126) ware. Featuring a phoenix head on the neck of the vase, the original of this piece now resides in the British Museum. Delicate floral engravings on the body of this vase plus the iconic phoenix head make this a truly unique piece.
All our reproduction Chinese porcelain is made in Jingdezhen which has been the capital of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD. The famous imperial kilns have been sited there since the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
