Noodle Cabinet From Tianjin - 19th Century

This antique poplar wood noodle cabinet from Tianjin was originally made in the 19^th century during the Qing dynasty and would have been used in a kitchen to store food items and dry noodles. Instantly identifiable as a 'noodle cabinet' due to its latticework doors, these are still incredibly popular items today. It has a beautiful bleached wood tone which would fit perfectly in a modern kitchen. 

Chinese cabinets are made with exceptional craftsmanship. The styles of 18^th and 19^th century pieces were often based on Ming designs that have a beautiful simplicity.

This piece offers one large storage area separated by a sturdy shelf as well as two large drawers.
