These stone washed Bengali style kantha patchwork bedspreads are made from 100% cotton.
Kantha is a centuries-old Indian tradition of stitching patchwork cloth from rags by thrifty rural women. Originating in Bengal, Orissa, and Bangladesh it is one of the oldest forms of embroidery in India, its origins can be traced back to the pre-Vedic (1500 - 500 BC) age.
Stone washing reduces risk of colour run and achieves a pleasing vintage look.
