This finely crafted Ganga Jumna Panch Patra is a traditional holy water vessel used in Hindu puja ceremonies. Made in the classic combination of warm copper and glowing brass, the term Ganga Jumna refers to the symbolic confluence of the sacred rivers Ganga and Yamuna — represented here through the harmonious blending of two metals. Vessels such as these were essential in ritual practice, holding sanctified water for offerings, purification and blessings.

The cylindrical body is decorated with applied brass bands and evenly spaced brass roundels set against the rich copper ground, creating a striking contrast of tone and texture. The softly flared rim and weighted base give the piece a pleasing proportion and stability. The accompanying spoon, with its shaped and textured handle, is designed for sprinkling or pouring water during ceremonial use. Uninscribed and beautifully patinated, this is an authentic and characterful example of Indian ritual metalwork, carrying both symbolic meaning and decorative appeal.
