Description

This pretty shutter is from Rajasthan and dates to the 19th century. Rajasthan was the center of several great schools of painting during the Mughal era.

This antique shutter is painted with Mughal figures - one carrying a musical instrument. They both have peacocks at their feet and floral Mughal arches above them.

Architecture from India is found in an extraordinary variety of styles reflecting the many cultures that inhabit India.

Wall hangers have been fitted to the reverse.
