Painted Louvre Cabinet Made From Reclaimed Teak

This Indian cabinet is made from reclaimed teak salvaged from old buildings in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The simple design incorporates a pair of tall louvred doors, giving the cabinet the character of traditional Indian architectural shutters while allowing ventilation through the front.

Behind the double doors is a spacious interior with a single shelf, providing useful storage for towels, toiletries, linen or other household items. The teak has a warm, aged finish, while the interior retains a contrasting distressed painted finish that highlights the history of the reclaimed timber.

Reclaimed teak is exceptionally durable and well suited to furniture, while reusing old architectural timber makes this an environmentally friendly alternative to newly sourced hardwood. Its louvred doors make it particularly suitable for use as a bathroom or linen cabinet.
