Painted Indian Console Table Made From Reclaimed Teak

This impressive Indian console table has been constructed from reclaimed 19th-century teak, salvaged from old buildings in Gujarat and Rajasthan that had fallen into disrepair. Reusing these historic timbers gives the furniture a new purpose while retaining the character of the original architecture, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to using newly felled hardwood.

The focal point is the beautifully carved central frieze, originally part of an old Gujarati door lintel. Deeply carved with a continuous design of scrolling leaves and foliage, it is complemented by further antique carved architectural elements incorporated into the front legs. A useful open shelf has been added below.

Please note that this console table itself is not an antique. It is a contemporary piece of furniture made using reclaimed antique teak and architectural carvings salvaged from Rajasthan and Gujarat.
