These pencil pots double as mini plant pots and are hand painted by local artists in Rajasthan in the classic vermillion red inspired by designs on Jain book boxes. They're made in the traditional way that grain measures have been made for centuries in India. 

Grain measures were used in markets in India for measuring wheat, corn, rice, and pulses. This flashy desk tidy also doubles as a plant pot and is available in either Jain red or Mughal green.
