Description

These pencil pots double as mini plant pots and are hand painted by local artists in Rajasthan. The red pots are painted in the classic vermillion red inspired by designs on Jain book boxes. They're made in the traditional way that grain measures have been made for centuries in India.

Grain measures were used in markets in India for measuring wheat, corn, rice, and pulses. This flashy desk tidy also doubles as a plant pot and is available in either Jain red or Mughal green.

What our customers say

Restored in our UK workshop

Every piece is checked, cleaned and made ready for its next chapter before it leaves us.

Our expert restorers inspect every item, making joints sound and carefully cleaning surfaces.

We favour conservation over restoration and use traditional techniques and materials, sensitively preserving the original character and patina that give each antique its individuality.
