Description

This decorative piece is composed of a collection of old Indian textile printing blocks dating from around 1930, carefully arranged and mounted together on a simple iron display stand.

Traditionally used for hand block-printing textiles, each hand-carved wooden block has its own individual pattern, with designs ranging from intricate florals and repeating geometric motifs to more elaborate scrolling forms.

Mounted together as a decorative artwork, the collection celebrates the extraordinary variety and craftsmanship of India's traditional textile-printing industry.
