This Japanese woodblock print of two geese is by master artist Ohara Koson (1877 - 1945). Koson was a master woodblock print designer famous for his bird and flower designs (kachō-e). He was involved in the shin-hanga new art movement in early 20th century Japan, its literal meaning 'new woodcut' block prints.
From 1926 through his association with Watanabe Shōzaburō and other publishers, he gained popularity and his works were exhibited abroad. Many of his original works are held in museums worldwide.
