These old Indian cooking strainers were used for removing deep fried Indian food from oil. These utensils would have been used all day, every day and this spoon has developed a wonderful patina and smooth finish after a century of use. Still perfectly useable as a strainer, this piece would also make a totally unique kitchen decoration and has a loop on the end for hanging. From Rajasthan in Northern India and dated circa 1920.
