Parats were used in India as mixing bowls for making chapatti and paratha bread. Bowls like this are found all over India. Wooden parat bowls like this are carved from a single piece of timber. This bowl is made from teak wood and is from Rajasthan. it is over 100 years old and covered in marks, scratches, and patina from years of use.

Most of our parat bowls are primarily 19^th century or early 20^th century and have wonderful patina from frequent use over many years.
