This carved Indian Krishna panel is a lintel which would have been used above a doorway to a home. It has been salvaged from a building fallen into disrepair in Andra Pradesh.,

The Hindu god Krishna is depicted playing the flute in the center is framed by intricately chip carved peacocks. This particular piece dates from the 19th century and would look fabulous on a wall or above a mantle piece. Originally this piece would have been painted and some of the old green-blue paint remains. The style of carving indicates its origins to be from Andra Pradesh in India.

We love this piece for the beautiful animal carvings with monkeys riding on the backs of peacocks and a leopard sitting at Krishna's feet.

Supplied fitted with wall hangers.
