These little bells are a part of the much larger romantic story, that of the famous Silk Road.
Long teams of ponies all laden with their precious cargoes passed through the mountains of the Himalayan trade routes.
Traditionally, multiple bells were attached to the harnesses of the ponies, and the evocative sound was heard frequently as they made their arduous journey over the high passes and through the villages.
Circa 100 yrs old, small enough to sew onto cushions and bags.
From the Punjab.
Individual bells may slightly differ in size, colour and engraving to the image shown.
