This lovely bleached wood Chinese shop chest was originally custom made for storage in a hardware shop in Shanxi. It's pained with the shop name - 'Jing Su Huo Ju' and was sourced in Shanxi. We love the iron binding on this chest and it's just perfect for adding a bit of intrigue to your home storage. It would also work perfectly as a side table.

This chest is crafted from what the Chinese call nanmu - a group of woods which the Chinese call 'fir wood' but has no similarity to fir tree wood found outside of China. Nanmu is valued highly in China for its beautiful wood grain.
