This beautifully painted wooden pichwai (pitchwai) painting is a modern replica inspired by the devotional temple backdrops of Rajasthan. It depicts Krishna as Govardhan Dhari, surrounded by a dense gathering of nandi bulls, attendants, and deities, celebrating Krishna’s role as protector of cattle and sustainer of life within Hindu tradition.

Krishna stands beneath a flowering tree lifting Mount Govardhan, while rows of carefully rendered white Nandi bulls fill the composition, symbolising abundance, devotion, and pastoral harmony. Attendant figures populate the scene, with smaller seated deities shown above, observing the sacred landscape. The painting is framed by a decorative floral border and executed in the traditional Pichwai style using naturalistic pigments, deliberately finished with an aged surface to echo the appearance of earlier examples.

Painted on a wooden panel, this decorative piece is intended as wall art rather than a temple object. It has a gently distressed finish with light crackling and surface wear consistent with its stylistic intent. Strong metal hangers are fitted to the reverse, allowing it to be displayed easily.
