This beautifully compact two-tier brass tiffin (dabba) dates to the early 20th century and showcases the practical ingenuity of everyday Indian metalwork. It features two neatly stacked compartments secured within a folding wire frame, topped with a simple square carry handle and a traditional locking mechanism.
The brass has developed a rich, time-worn patina, with gentle marks and small dents from years of use that add charm and authenticity. Today, this style of tiffin makes a wonderful decorative piece, jewellery or trinket storage, or a distinctive serving vessel for dry snacks.
