This wonderfully characterful brass Indian tiffin (dabba) dates to around 100 years old and beautifully reflects everyday craftsmanship from early 20th-century India. Hand-constructed in multiple stacked compartments and secured by a sturdy hinged frame, it was originally used to transport home-cooked meals. This example carries a hand-punched Hindi name inscription, adding a personal and authentic touch.
The warm brass surface shows gentle wear, small dents, and age marks from its original use, all of which contribute to its charm. Today, these historic tiffins make excellent jewellery storage pieces, tabletop décor, or unique food presentation vessels for dry items.
