This fabulous coffee table is an antique Indian daybed known as a takhat. Takhats were originally used as daybeds by the wealthy merchant classes in Rajasthan, particularly in the Shekhawati area. This takhat is from Shekhawati and dates to the 19^th century and constructed from roheda wood which is a variety of teak and the national wood of Rajasthan.

This beautifully hand-crafted coffee table is finished with hand-beaten iron hobnails and would make an impressive rustic centerpiece for a living room, conservatory, or summer house.
