This striking three-tier Kerala oil lamp is hand-carved from solid stone, embodying the timeless ritual traditions of South India. Traditionally used in temples and homes, such lamps (known as vilakku) are lit during ceremonies and festivals, symbolising light, purity, and spiritual awakening.
The elegant tiered form features three circular trays, each carefully carved with individual recesses designed to hold oil and cotton wicks. Rising to a gently shaped finial, the lamp has a strong sculptural presence, while the natural grey stone lends it a calm, architectural quality. Both decorative and functional, it makes a powerful statement piece for interiors, courtyards, or garden settings.
