This beautifully carved teak seed drill has been converted into a truly unique candle stand. There are simple carvings ringing the piece which has developed a wonderful rich patina over time.
Like many things in India, seed drills were made for the practical purpose of spreading seeds - beautifully carved by Marathi craftsmen in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Nowadays these seed drills are great used as a candlestand or just as a beautiful decorative object.
