This impressive 19th century floor standing Mihrab door mirror has been created from an original architectural doorway from the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, preserving the rich history and craftsmanship of the region. The beautifully weathered timber frame retains layers of its original hand-painted finish, with soft tones of blue, cream and ochre that have naturally aged over time to create a wonderfully textured patina.

The mirror is framed by an elegant Mihrab arch, a form inspired by Indo-Islamic architecture that has long been admired for its graceful proportions and decorative appeal. Originally serving as a doorway within a traditional Kutch home, the piece has been thoughtfully converted into a full-length mirror while preserving its architectural character and hand-carved detailing. The result is a striking statement piece that effortlessly combines antique craftsmanship with practical modern use.

Equally suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors, the mirror can be displayed leaning against a wall for a relaxed, floor-standing look or securely mounted as a dramatic wall mirror. Its generous proportions make it ideal for bedrooms, dressing rooms, hallways or living spaces, where the aged timber and distinctive arch create an immediate focal point.

Due to its substantial size and weight, the mirror can be hung on most suitable walls, although specialist installation may be advisable. We are happy to assist with advice regarding installation if required.
