Carved Teak Door Frame Mirror from Nagaur – 19th Century

This 19th-century carved teak mirror from Nagaur, Rajasthan, has been created from an original architectural door frame, showcasing the extraordinary craftsmanship and decorative traditions of the region.

The substantial frame is richly embellished with intricate hand-carved floral and geometric motifs, including repeating rosettes, scrolling foliage and finely detailed borders. The elaborate carving is characteristic of the ornate doorways and architectural woodwork found in Nagaur's historic havelis and traditional residences.

The beautifully aged teak has developed a deep, rich patina, with warm reddish-brown highlights that accentuate the depth and intricacy of the carving. Original iron studs and the substantial construction add further character, preserving the architectural heritage of the piece.

At nearly two metres tall, this impressive mirror makes a striking statement in a hallway, entrance hall or living space. Its generous proportions and richly textured frame bring a wonderful sense of history and grandeur to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The mirror is supplied with sturdy wall hangers. Hanging advice is available upon request.
