This wonderfully carved shrine would have been set into a wall and used to house the family's favorite deity in a Hindu household.
Here a classic Mughal arch is flanked by two wonderfully carved pillars. Decoratively carved supports meet the bottom of the pillars where the shelf is located. Various layers of paint added over the years have worn away to give this piece a wonderful patchy 'distressed' look.

Today, these are often used as decorative shelves or places to display ornaments.

Wall fixtures can be supplied on request.
